Water supply, sanitation and health are closely related. Poor hygiene, inadequate quantities and quality of drinking water and lack of sanitation facilities cause millions of the world poorest people to die from preventable diseases each year. So a study was conducted among the people of Laitkor rural community with a 100 sample size and convenient sampling technique was adopted. Socio demographic data and a 40 items self-structured knowledge questionnaire on environmental sanitation and its impact on health was employed for the study. Analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study reveals that most of the people (43%) have good knowledge on environmental sanitation and its impact on health with a mean score of 28.08, median 28.5 and standard deviation of 2.8. And there was significant association of the level of knowledge with gender and source of information at 0.05 degree of freedom.
