Cybercrime awareness refers to understanding the risks associated with illegal online activities and knowing how to protect oneself and one’s personal information from such threats. This study aimed to assess the level of cybercrime awareness among students and to compare awareness between disciplines. A quantitative research approach with a comparative survey design was adopted. A total of 323 students were selected using simple random sampling, while colleges were chosen through convenient sampling. The key variable studied was cybercrime awareness, and demographic variables included age, gender, course, year of study, religion, type of family, monthly family income, socioeconomic status, parental education and occupation, and details regarding gadgets and their usage. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed no statistically significant difference in cybercrime awareness scores among students of different disciplines; however, the year of study was significantly associated with awareness (p = 0.001). The study underscores the need for targeted educational initiatives to enhance cyber safety knowledge, particularly among students at earlier stages of their academic programmes.
