Nursing Journal of India (NJI) is the one of the world’s oldest journal regularly published with a legacy of more than 100 years.

The traditional approach in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is based on principle of seeing, learning and doing. The instructor demonstrates a procedure; students then practice it. However, inadequate skill acquisition is often related to the poor quality of training, and lower skill retention. In this study, the comparison of innovative teaching strategy of Peyton’s 4-Step Approach with traditional method revealed that latter was found to be more effective than the conventional demonstration method for teaching CPR to nursing students.
